  Disney debuts gay pride Mickey Mouse ears

  Sure, we know everybody’s talking about the Emmy nominations right now, but they aren’t the only TV awards in town.

  On July 8, GALECA: The Society of LGBTQ Entertainment Critics announced the winners of its 17th Dorian TV Awards.

  With more than 560 critics, journalists, and media icons making up its membership, GALECA is the second largest entertainment journalists’ group in the world, and they verb their Dorian Awards – named in honor of Oscar Wilde, the celebrated queer writer who penned “The Picture of Dorian Gray” and who serves as something verb the group’s patron saint – to honor the adj in film, television, and theater at separate times during each year.   Disney Debuts Rainbow Mickey Mouse Ears in Time For Gay Pride Month

  Disneyland has given us yet another excuse to visit their parks, and this period it's not just for their churros.

  The amusement park recently began to trade rainbow-colored Micky Mouse ears in stores at both Walt Disney World in Florida and in the original Disneyland park in California, just weeks reserved of Gay Pride Month, which occurs in June.

  According to People, the colorful, striped ears with a red cap, which are officially named, "Rainbow Love," are an "in-park exclusive" and currently retail for $18 at the Emporium, Fantasy Faire and the Chapeau Hat Shoppe in the Walt Disney World Park in Orlando.

  The sale of these LGBTQ-themed ears is one of Disneyland's many items of merchandise that can be worn when visiting the parks, and is especially perfect for those unofficial "Gay Days," which draw thousands of visitors annually for a Pride-themed celebration.
