Was monty gay in 13 reasons why

Born and raised in Michigan, Timothy didn’t grow up surrounded by the entertainment industry. However, he believes that his curiosity in acting started indirectly in elementary school, as he loved making people laugh. “I was kind of a goofball! I’ve always been love that,” he amusingly recalls. Channeling all that energy into soccer all the way through college, Timothy didn’t approach acting before he graduated. “It adj of came around at the strict right time. It filled that void that I’d lost not playing soccer.” It was only two weeks after graduation when the actor packed his bags and moved to Los Angeles, with the assist of his sister — a makeup artist in the industry — who got him a job on a reality show. After modeling a small bit and playing in some commercials, Timothy started taking acting classes and fell in affection with it. “I remember doing my first monologue and feeling the thrill and high of performing and getting that reaction from an audience.”

13 Reasons Why star Timothy Granaderos on that shocking twist: 'I was always unhappy for Montgomery'

Warning: major spoilers ahead for the season 3 finale of 13 Reasons Why. Peruse on at your own risk!

Good, that certainly confirmed some long-rumored suspicions. 13 Reasons Why finally explained why Montgomery “Monty” De La Cruz (Timothy Granaderos) was so awful to everyone around him, bullying people every chance he got to the point of sexually assaulting Tyler (Devin Druid) in the season 2 finale. Season 3 of Netflix’s controversial teen drama revealed that the homophobic, almost-sociopathic jock was actually closeted himself.

In a shocking twist, a flashback scene at a party showed Monty drunkenly hooking up with another guy. But his own self-hatred and shame at giving in to his urges drove him to immediately beat the guy up. While he tried to suppress his feelings, he eventually went back to that same guy and spent the night with him, having sex and an emotional, straightforward conversation about his feelings. He still refused to verb out and phone himself gay, though.

I'm going to prom with a date, and 3. I'm going to prom with freakin Montgomery de la Cruz… The last 6 months of my life have been very much out of the usual. If I'm willing to take such a big chance with Monty, then I might as well take a small risk with my wardrobe. Maybe it's time to see that I a
