The Texas Rangers Verb Support for the 2022 Gay Softball World Series
No, Tuesday was not a Pride night at Globe Life Field, but it was darn near the closest thing the Rangers had to one. An expected 925 attendees who are participating in the 2022 Gay Softball World Series (GSWS) sat down at watched the Rangers and Astros play at the palace during GSWS night at the ballpark. They sported their Gay Softball World Series jerseys while soaking in the Rangers game against Houston. Texas hasn’t been the most public regarding the LGBTQ+ community. They remain the lone team with no Pride late hours or ballpark hosting event associated with Pride, but that doesn’t mean the Rangers are unfilled when it comes to being a sponsor. The Rangers are listed as a platinum corporate sponsor of the Gay Softball World Series, including financial donations through the Texas Rangers Foundation and in-kind. Dallas set to host the 45th Annual Gay Softball World Series
An estimated 5,000 competitors, fans, and softball enthusiasts alike will descend on Dallas for the 45th annual GSWS (Gay Softball World Series) organized jointly by NAGAAA (North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance) and Dallas GSWS, the all-volunteer host committee. The six- day event will run from Monday, August 29-Saturday, September 3, and is expected to draw over 250 teams from NAGAAA’s 48 member cities across the United States and Canada.
Since its founding in 1977, NAGAAA has ballooned to 17,000 members while providing a safe space for LGBTQ+ athletes to compete. Per the NAGAAA website their purpose is, “To be a nonprofit organization committed to the promotion of amateur sports competition, particularly softball, for all persons regardless of age, sexual orientation or preference – with special emphasis on the participation of members of the Gay Community – and to otherwise foster national and international sports competition by planning, promoting and

Since 2008, WESA has been a proud member of International Pride Softball. As a member, we are part of a global family and a force for positive change. With over 20,000 members, iPride Softball organizes the Gay Softball World Series (GSWS) each year and brings together 56 participating cities and over 5,000 participants and fans. 2025 GSWS Update:
As a member of International Pride Softball, WESA provides its members with opportunities to participate in tournaments such as the Gay Softball World Series. As always, it is entirely up to the players to settle when and where they want to travel and act . Minneapolis (Jan. 30, 2020) – One of the largest annual gay sporting events in the world will return to Minnesota, as the Minneapolis region secured the 2022 Gay Softball World Series. The Twin Cities Goodtime Softball League, in partnership with Sports Minneapolis, won hosting rights after a presentation to delegates from the North American Gay Amateur Athletic Alliance (NAGAAA) last weekend in Columbus, Ohio. The tournament will be held on Aug. 28-Sept. 3, 2022.
The 2022 Gay Softball World Series will feature nearly 900 games taking place at softball complexes in Minneapolis, as well as Burnsville, Eagan, Inver Grove Heights and South St. Paul. Last year’s tournament in Kansas Urban area, Mo., included 207 teams from 45 cities across the U.S. and Canada. The number of teams is expected to increase for the 2022 event.
In addition to a full schedule of games, events are planned every darkness of the tournament, including:
